We are a San Diego-based pro-am sailboat racing team, currently racing on a Soto 40 “Zero Gravity” and skippered by Ivan Batanov. Soto 40 was designed by Javier Soto Acebal Naval Architecture and built by M-Boats Argentina. Zero Gravity is hull #19, ex. Sporstfreund/Earlybird/Iberdrola.
Before “Zero Gravity” we raced a modified 1D35 “Fractions” (ex. Hell Hound), designed by Nelson/Marek Yacht Design, and an IMS 49 race boat “Numbers”, hence the name “Numbers Racing”. Numbers was designed by Jim Taylor as “T-49 Numbers” and built by Goetz Boatworks as Project 68. “Numbers 97” was originally commissioned for the 1997 Admiral’s Cup, raced in Key West Race Week and SORC. She has some cutting-edge features like a canting mast and under-deck rigging.
